Accompanied by a delegation of NAX-Members and –Partners as well as Dr. Ulrich Hatzfeld BMUBMU Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit sub-department head, NAX went on a delegational visits to Beijing and Shanghai (China) from October 10th to November 3rd. The event week started with a discussion event in the German Embassy in Beijing on the topic “Architecture, Culture and Cautious City Making – Ideas and Inspirations between Germany and China” (30.10.), followed by a visit to the trade fair Fenestration BAU China – combined with a Meet & Greet with BMIBMI Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat Secretary of State Gunther Adler at the booth of NAX partner JUNG. The core event of the delegation trip in Beijing was a Multistakeholder-Workshop (1.11.) on the topic of “Cautious Urban Renewal- Innovative Urban and Environmental Planning for Megacities in China“ which began the evening before with a Connecting Evening with Pecha Kucha presentations by the workshop participants. The second part of the NAX delegation trip led the participants to Shanghai. Starting with a Networking dinner (2.11.) and followed by a roundtable on “Urban Regeneration” (3.11.) at the famous Tongji University. The trip was rounded off by professionally guided excursions on urban regeneration trends and developments in both cities.
