About Juan Lucas Young
Juan Lucas Young joined Sauerbruch Hutton in London in 1990, having graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo in 1989. Following the completion of the GSW building in 1999, Juan Lucas became partner and managing director.
Juan Lucas reviews both the design and executive management of many competitions and projects, particularly large and international. Besides this role he is a principal in charge of selected projects, having attained experience on leading large interdisciplinary teams, often as head of joint ventures.
Juan Lucas is also responsible for the overall management of the company and has overseen building projects with research and education for over 20 years. He has been a regular keynote speaker at conferences and symposia.
The Sino-German City Lab is funded by the “Export Initiative Environmental Technologies” (EXI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUBMU Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit).
